It has been a busy start to the year for Henwood Park as they juggle FFA Cup and Pascoe Cup commitments but the Hawks keep on winning.
Henwood Park went into half-time 1-0 in front courtesy of a Brad Ingram goal, before Jake Ploenges put the icing on the cake with a second half double.
Henwood Park coach Ryan McKenzie was happy with the performance.
“You would always take the three points no matter who you come up against,” McKenzie said.
“We came out pretty strong but it was a bit of a grind in the first half. We kept grinding away and Wagga United dropped off a bit and we got there.
“We made it a little bit harder for ourselves, we had five players out, so we had a lot of structural changes but it was good to get the win.”
Ingram and Ploenges were best for Henwood Park in the win.
McKenzie said the draw for the fifth round of the FFA Cup is being conducted on Friday so they will know more then about their next challenge.
In the meantime, with a general bye this weekend, the Hawks hope to get some players back for their next assignment, be it the FFA Cup or the third round Pascoe Cup clash against South Wagga on April 29.
In other Pascoe Cup results from Sunday, Tolland defeated Tumut 4-0 at the Bull Paddock, while Lake Albert were forced to work hard for a 1-0 win over Young at Young.
