Tolland was the side to knock United out of finals contention last year, so the first grade team is hoping to not only start the season well, but get a little retribution.
To be held at the Mia Sports Field, United will have the home ground advantage despite not having trained on the ground during the off-season.
The club has been training at the town ovals, but is looking forward to round one getting under.
First grade assistant coach Joe Trifogli is hopeful of a solid season.
“The nucleus of last year’s first grade side is still there,” he said.
“Adam Raso has decided to stay on for another season, so that’s great. That’s a big bonus for us.
“However, he’s under a bit of an injury cloud for round one, so if he passes the fitness test it’s likely he’ll start off in reserve grade this week.”
Daniel Alampi is another who may not take to the field, but Trifogli was confident United would be strong going in.
“It’s always hard to tell how things will go in the first game of the season,” he said.
“Tolland are a quick and fast side. They move the ball very well, so we’ll need to be on our toes.”
Coach Mick Doolin will be away for the first few games of the season due to volunteering commitments at the Commonwealth Games.
Trifogli and fellow assistant coach Frank Alampi will take over in his absence, with Joey Fondacaro to again captain the first grade team.
“We’re looking forward to a good season,” Trifogli said.

“Hopefully we can start off well with a win and go from there.”
Leeton shire women interested in playing soccer have also been urged to sign up with United’s team for the year ahead.
The side needs some extra numbers to be able to push ahead this year.
