This year’s twilight run was extra special, with the Willans Hill team now celebrating 40 years of Wagga’s miniature railway.
Conductor Jim Weeden said almost 3000 people took a ride over the weekend.
“We had 2195 people for the twilight rides on Sunday evening, and another 748 came along on Saturday morning,” Mr Weeden said.
“It was a very good weekend – and the VRA were doing very well raising some money with their barbecue.”
Mr Weeden said the weekend was also a great way to celebrate the past 40 years.
“It has meant a lot for Wagga over the last four decades – it started as a very slow 100 metre track, and we’ve now built it up to nearly three kilometres,” he said.
“It also attracts people from all over, and we get a lot of visitors turning up on the first or third Sunday of each month to ride the train.”
