Des Damme Fencing lost more $5000 worth of cash, property and important documents after their safe was stolen about 8.30pm on Sunday night.
Des Damme Fencing’s Jack Damme said it was the first time the businesses had been hit by crime.
“It’s pretty disappointing,” he said.
“Our fingers are crossed now and hopefully they catch those responsible.”
Mr Damme said a scary aspect to the break-in was that it appeared to be planned.
“I don’t think it was a personal attack but it does seem pre-planned since they’ve jumped the fence from the others to ours,” he said.
Wagga police Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet said police were currently investigating the incident.
“Any time of property offence is a concern to us and a concern to the community,” he said.
“A number of lines of inquiry are being conducted and once again we’ll be calling on any members of the public that might have information on that matter to contact police.”
