Green produced a bogey-free final round of 64 to win Wagga Country Club’s $40,000 showpiece event.
The accomplished Newcastle golfer finished at 11 under, one in front of 2014 New Zealand Open winner Dimitrios Papadatos.
Papadatos made a strong charge at Green and levelled at 10 under after a birdie on the 16th.
But with the pressure on, Green rallied and birdied the 16th himself before producing some clutch shots on the final two holes to hold on.
“I’ve never been good at closing so I was a bit nervous but I hit some good shots today so I was pretty happy with it actually,” Green said.
“It’s good to win one that everyone wants to win.”
Green returned home to Australia in 2014 after 10 years on the US circuit. He does not play as much any more but was thrilled to win the Wagga Pro-Am.
“For me, it’s probably the best Pro-Am of the year,” he said.
“There’s some we play for more money but there’s not many that the whole town gets behind. It’s just got one of those feels. It’s a small town but good crowds and everyone gets behind it.
“Some of the tour events you play, no one would even know you’re there, but here it’s a good vibe, a good course and I was really happy with it.”
Defending champion Jordan Zunic shot a second round 62 to climb up the leaderboard but it was only good enough for third place.
Craig Parry battled to finish at five over, with Peter O’Malley one in front of him at four over.
