At around 10pm on Friday night on Bellbird Street, a neighbor heard popping sounds coming from outside.
The resident went out to investigate and discovered the house was completely alight, and immediately contacted 000.
Coleambally Fire Brigade, Gidgell Brigade, Fire and Rescue 311 as well as police, ambulance and SES services attended the scene and extinguished the blaze, but it was too late to save the house from destruction.
Both residents, in their 60’s, were luckily away from the house at the time, but lost everything in the fire.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help raise money for the couple, and can be found here.
