‘Woman 2 Woman’ organiser Claire Kendall said Thursday is a day to celebrate women all around the world.
“This year’s theme is ‘press for progress’, so we’re taking the day to celebrate how far we have come in women’s rights and acknowledging how far we still have to go,” Ms Kendall said.
“On Thursday, we’ll have multicultural food, drumming mindfulness workshops, a ukulele jam session, craft activities, and economic wellbeing sessions.”
Constance Okot, a Sudanese refugee who arrived in Wagga in the 1980s, will give the day’s keynote address.
Thursday’s celebrations will run from 10am to 3pm at the Multicultural Council and all are welcome to join in on the fun.
