The Wagga woolclasser was part of one of 50 teams to compete in the largest wether trial of its kind on Thursday.
Wool experts from across the country descended on Tafe’s Primary Industries Centre in North Wagga for the Peter Westblade Memorial Merino Challenge.
The purpose: to decide which producer has the best genetic line.
Each team brought 15 wethers to Wagga, to compare with their competitor’s.
Ms Hartmeier – a Peter Westblade Scholarship winner – said the day was an opportunity to learn more, network and make a name for herself.
“Today’s been good,” Ms Hartmeier said. “It’s been nice to get back into the swing of the shed things.”
