“Students and staff are commended on the smooth operation of the lockdown safety procedure that was called this morning,” said a Department of Education spokesperson.
”Lockdowns, like other safety procedures conducted at public schools, are called to ensure the safety of students and staff,
“Police attended promptly to support the safety procedure and the issue was resolved without incident.
“Safety procedures are rehearsed regularly at all public schools. Wagga Wagga High practised its procedure last week.”
EARLIER: Police have attended Wagga High this morning following an undisclosed incident that resulted in the school being placed into lockdown.
At least three police cars were at the school just before midday.
Principal Chris Davies was seen with staff and police near the car park on Edmondson Street.
