As Wagga volunteers with the NSW Cancer Council, they are hoping to encourage other residents to get fit and support the March Charge.
“The March Charge provides an opportunity for everyone, no matter what their fitness level, to get healthy and contribute to a cancer-free future. You can participate in The March Charge by setting your own walking or running challenge over the course of one month. Charge as an individual, with a partner or in a team,” the Cancer Council’s Brianna Carracher said.
“Preventing cancer is one of the most effective ways of beating cancer. One in three cancer cases can be prevented through living a healthy lifestyle. By taking part in the March Charge, you can increase your physical activity, and build healthy habits.
“In 2017, more than 6500 people took on the month-long challenge, raising $914,078 around Australia.”
For 2018, Ms Carracher said the goal was $1 million.
