Police allege a 36 and 27-year-old man exchanged words at an Edward Street property, near Fox Street, before the fight spilled onto the road outside and became physical.
“Police were patrolling at the time and saw both of the males involved throwing punches at each other… Police have stopped and tried to speak to the men however they continued to fight,” Chief Inspector Andrew Spliet said.
The out-of-control men were subdued with capsicum spray before being arrested.
They were taken to Wagga Police Station where they were charged with assault and affray offences.
“Obviously there are ways and means to resolve your differences and fighting in the middle of a main highway is not the way to do that,” Chief Inspector Spliet said.
Both men received conditional bail and will appear at Wagga Court on Wednesday, April 4.
