With the temperature soaring into the early 40s on both Saturday and Sunday, Wagga provided tough conditions some of the world’s best female cricketers but they were pleasantly surprised by what the city has to offer.
Sydney Thunder wicketkeeper Rachel Priest was impressed by the facilties at Robertson Oval.
“It was a really great ground,” Priest said.
Fellow New Zealand international and Adelaide Strikers star Sophie Devine was impressed with the pitch and the city itself.
“It has been great,” Devine said.
“The support from the locals has been fantastic, it is a beautiful wee spot and coming from New Zealand it is a little bit like home in the country. I’ve really enjoyed my time here despite the heat trying to melt us.”
