Stephen James Meredith-Stewart, 19, learnt his fate in Wagga Local Court this week after pleaded guilty to one count of larceny.
Meredith-Stewart was on bail for a number of offences when CCTV captured him stealing 26 Fitbits, worth a total of $7098, by opening the top of a glass display counter with a tool.
Documents tendered to the court say the Kooringal man concealed the devices underneath his clothing about 4.20pm on November 7.
Magistrate Erin Kennedy told Meredith-Stewart the offending needed to stop.
“It’s a matter for you as to whether you choose a life in and out of custody,” she said.
“The company you’re keeping is obviously not a good choice for you.”
