After taking out the one day final in their last match, Colts have been set 189 to win by Lake Albert.
Surviving a tricky two-over period late on day one to finish at 0-2, Kooringal captain Sam Whitfield
“I think we came off feeling pretty happy about where we ended up for the day,” Whitfield said.
“The outfield was definitely a little slow so they had to run most of their runs, but we definitely have the batting line-up and enough guys in form to chase that down.”
While Colts are yet to taste defeat, on the ladder there is little between the six clubs.
Kooringal are 10 points clear of fourth-placed Wagga City while winless St Michaels are a further six adrift.
With more points now on offer in the longer format, Whitfield is looking to take advantage.
“It would be really handy to get a couple of two-day wins early in the season and hopefully cement a top two spot coming into finals,” he said.
The day could also provide debutant Saxby Williams a chance to make an real impact.
Rewarded for his strong form in second grade, the 16-year-old made his debut last week and took over behind the stumps from Whitfield.
