The Wagga Warbirds have been hard at work preparing a dazzling display of high flying antics ahead this weekend's New Year's Eve Skyworks celebration.
Chief pilot Alex von Mengersen said the Warbirds will lift off at 5:45pm for a 15 minute airshow that is sure to leave the crowd impressed.
"We've got three aircrafts and we'll be doing a series of passes in formation, so the wheel chips will be three feet from each other and there'll be four or five passes in different shapes and configurations," Alex said.
"It's not dissimilar to what you'd see on Anzac Day."
While it's been 15 years since Alex started flying with the Warbirds, he said said the fun still hasn't worn off.
"It's a lot of fun - mainly that satisfaction you get out of it when you fly something accurately and display everything exactly in the right position every time - just like it's choreographed," he said.
The Warbirds aren't the only attraction this New Year's Eve; Skyworks is also set to deliver five bands, amusement rides, food trucks, animal rides, and a 20 minute fireworks display that is shaping up to be the biggest regional NSW has ever seen.
If you'd like to get in on the fun, the Skyworks spectacular will begin at 4:30pm at Apex Park on Sunday.
