George Parkins said Norma was a much-loved member of their card group, which they set up to encourage The Haven’s elderly residents to get out of their rooms and meet each other.
“We thought we'd have this lunch in remembrance of Norma, because she was a nice person and she loved her cards,” Mr Parkins said.
“We also knew whenever she had high cards, because she'd always put them at the front.”
George Parkins reached out to Woolworths last week looking for help with their Christmas lunch and was overwhelmed by their generosity.
“I went and saw a lady called Lauren at Woolworths and they went to a lot of trouble getting all the food ready for us,” Mr Parkins said.
“They supplied just about everything for our lunch - the chicken, the ham, all the salads - they were absolutely fantastic.”
