A giant screen will be installed at the ground capable of providing video replays as well as general use as a scoreboard and clock.
The $50,000 screen has been donated by Optus and is one of only seven handed out across the country.
Wagga Rugby League chairman Warren Barclay said it is a “significant investment” for the game and the city in general.
“It will revolutionise the way scoreboards are done,” Barclay said.
“It will be the best in Southern NSW.”
Barclay believes the new scoreboard will be the icing on the cake for the hard work volunteers have put into the purpose built rugby league ground for more than a decade.
“It is testament to the hard work that volunteers and businesses around Wagga have put into the ground for 12 years to receive it,” he said.
The screen stands almost three metres high and is four metres wide.
Barclay expects other codes will utilise the screen as well any other events.
The scoreboard is expected to be installed by late February or early March.
The current scoreboard will be moved to Harris Park as part of the ground’s revitalisation.
