The Vipers went down to eventual B grade champions Parramatta Eels 5-4 in the championship semi final on Sunday.
The competition got off to a great start for the local representative side, which boasts a host of recognisable names including Daniel Foley, Dylan McLachlan and captain-coach Brocke Argus.
Wagga got through its initial pool and championship pool undefeated, claiming three wins and a draw in each.
Argus said he was proud of his side for beating a host of teams which play touch all year round, as opposed to his men who play against each other in Wagga’s Premier League and only in the summer.
The Wagga skipper also noted that it was his side’s defence which held their impressive campaign together.
