Staff at the Sheridan Street service centre were held at knife-point at around 5.45pm on Friday evening.
Centre worker Surya Palaka said one man was armed with a large kitchen knife.
“Three men entered the centre between 5.45pm and 5.50pm and took cash from the register,” Mr Palaka said.
“They also took cigarettes, chips and drinks.”
Police inspector Steve Bradford said investigations were ongoing.
“The men were last seen heading off down Otway Street where they may have had a vehicle waiting,” he said.
“Police are seeking assistance and anyone with information or cctv footage is encouraged to come forward and contact Gundagai police on 6944 0499.”
