The move out cook up has now become an annual event that sees students leaving their residences at the conclusion of the semester cleaning out their pantries, fridges and freezers and donating all of their in-date food products to CSU Healthy Eating, Entertainment and Retail Services (CHEERS).
CHEERS staff then cook and prepare packaged frozen meals to donate to the food rescue charity OzHarvest.
“It’s simply fantastic to be able to support a local charity by providing nutritious meals with food that would have otherwise gone to waste,” said food and beverage coordinator, Toby Perry.
