Kildare Catholic College is establishing itself as a golfing powerhouse, with the school’s finest youngsters taking out the Steve Elkington Cup for the third consecutive year at the Wagga Country Club on Tuesday.

Freshly crowned Wagga Country Club Champion Bart Carroll led the charge for Kildare, carding 33 on a shortened back nine for an 18 hole score of 71.
He combined with Harry Macaskill (82) and Ryan Allen (91) for an overall score of 244.
Mater Dei Catholic College finished second on 253, followed by Wagga High School, The Riverina Anglican College and Kooringal High School.
Mater Dei, TRAC and Wagga High were missing George Harpley (43), James Currie (48) and Cameron Longmore (53) respectively from round one, handing Kildare an eight shot lead despite being level with Mater Dei at the end of opening round.
