After competing for two full days, the husband and wife combination narrowly edged Wollongong’s Bernie McAlary and Carol Hayes in the final at the Wagga Croquet Club.
They prevailed 7-6 in a thrilling contest which could have gone either way until the final hoop was scored.
The singles component of the championships now runs until Sunday, with Peter Lloyd again flying the flag for Wagga along with Fran Brown.
Players have come from all over to attend the competition, travelling from as far as Wollongong, Port Hacking, Toronto and Sydney.
