The 13-year-old Wagga centre has been named in the Australian Country side which will compete at the World Youth Basketball Tournament in August next year.
Cochrane said he was looking forward to his next overseas venture.
“It will be about development and seeing what’s over there,” he said.
It’s a hard-earned reward which follows Cochrane’s victorious showing with the Country team at the Mel Young Easter Classic in New Zealand in April.
The youngster said the Kiwi tournament featured much bigger and better players than he was used to, and expects more of the same in Hawaii.
“Those were some of the toughest basketball games I’ve probably ever played, just because of the physicality,” he said.
“I'll need to pick it up a few areas...in terms of increasing my speed and being more physical.”
