Ms Mazoudier’s goal is to encourage more youth to get involved in the show, bringing new ideas and innovation to ensure its survival for many years to come.
An agricultural science student and vice president of the Next Generation Group who finished runner-up in 2016, she said she can’t wait to begin her role as an ambassador.
“I would love to see the numbers of our group increase and to push the point of youth involvement because without it we may not have a show,” Ms Mazoudier said.
Ms Mazoudier said she was proud to watch the show grow this year, with a quick shearer and young farmer exhibition, as well as an agricultural education day.
“Last year we received feedback that there wasn’t a lot here for families with small kids so this year we’ve created an under-five section to help with that,” she said.
“The quick shear has had an amazing amount of registrations in its first year – especially considering it was a last minute idea.”
While Wagga has only been Ms Mazoudier’s home since she moved to study university, she has committed her time to the all-important show and has encouraged others to do the same.
“Just get involved – you can look us up on Facebook or email the Show Society,” she said. Georgie Milne was named runner-up.
