We the undersigned once again object to the boring one-sided nature of Pope’s political cartoons in The Daily Advertiser.

A good political cartoonist portrays a range of politicians in a satirical humorous manner.
But Pope shows his limited and biased character by his narrow range of characters and his cartoons become one-sided and boring as a result.
Many readers are of the same opinion but not many take any action.
Please consider engaging another more versatile cartoonist.

Please, fix it up
The Wollundry Lagoon has been an important feature of the Murrumbidgee River before and after the coming of the settlers.
It is now a great asset to our city. There is a well constructed and well maintained walkway around the entire lagoon. That is, except for one small block.
This is bounded by the CWA club room at one end and by a large empty office and laboratory buildings at the Beckwith Street end. Between these there are eight dwellings fronting Johnson Street. Of these, two are derelict, two are in poor repair with multiple occupancy. Of the other four dwellings, two are commercial premises and the other two private homes.
Does the Wagga Wagga City Council have a legal easement between these properties and the water? If not, why not?
I do not suggest that a pathway be constructed immediately but it would be nice to know that when money becomes available, like Lake Albert, we could walk right around our ‘lake’ too.

Good time had by all
A memorable weekend was held on Saturday and Sunday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Cantilena Singers.
Eight of the Cantilena’s musical directors enjoyed a relaxing function and a reunion after the Sunday Concert at Romanos Hotel.
They were Adrian Wintle 1977 - 1978 (foundation director - Wagga Civic Choir), Max Reeder 1979 - 1986, David Kennedy 1986, Keith Radford 1987 - 1988, Patrick Pickett 1995 - 2001, Ester Wetherspoon 2002 - 2003, Katherine Thompson 2007 - 2010 and Marie-Cecile Henderson 2017.
It is interesting to note that Adrian, Max Keith and Patrick were also directors of the Riverina Conservatorium of Music and Marie-Cecile is the current director of the choir and also the Head of Music at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.
The Cantilena Singers were joined at both concerts by the St George Choir from Nordlingen, Germany, our sister city. The principal work for the concerts was Vivaldi’s “Gloria” backed by an ensemble of the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.

Don’t have a cow
Regarding Dairy Connect's petition to stop non-dairy milks from being labelled as milk, dairy farmer Ruth Kydd says, "by definition, milk comes from mammals.” (It ain’t white: dairies petition to restrict labelling of plant-based alternatives as 'milk' from August 11).
Yes, milk does come from mammals but the actual definition of milk is, "an opaque white fluid rich in fat and protein, secreted by female mammals for the nourishment of their young."
If this campaign is all about honesty in labelling, the labels on milk cartons should clearly state, "secreted by cows for the nourishment of their young."
Interestingly, the other dictionary definition of milk is to exploit or take advantage of - and that is exactly what farmers do to cows when they force them to become pregnant then kill their babies so they can steal their milk for profit.
