Police say the man was stopped while riding his bike in Wagga’s CBD on Saturday, August 12 at 2.30am, after it was noticed he wasn’t wearing a helmet and his bike wasn’t displaying lights.
Police allege the man became aggressive and was arrested after assaulting both police officers.
He was released nearly six hours later on conditional bail and had his bike and helmet returned.
Moments later police say they heard a commotion outside and saw the man throwing his bike at a police car before hitting it with his helmet.
The man was arrested for the second time and kept in custody after bail was refused. He will appear in Wagga Court on August 30.
