Presenter Mike Whitney said he absolutely loved Wagga and the people he’d met here in his 23 years on the show.
“In all that time we still haven’t run out of things to shoot!” Mr Whitney said.
“We did the cultural tour with Mark Saddler, a local Wiradjuri historian, visited The Rock and the Emu Farm and looked at the scar trees.”
The crew stayed the night at The Houston – which Mr Whitney said was “pretty special” – and owners Mark and Lisa Madigan said the exposure was great for the city’s profile.
“This is huge for Wagga tourism,” Mr Madigan said.
“Sydney Weekender’s support for regional NSW is second to none and coming back to Wagga can only benefit the city.”
The show, which was organised with the help of Destination NSW, is scheduled to air on August 27. It will also feature a segment on Griffith’s booming restaurant scene.
