Jetgo managing director Paul Bredereck said the new route, part of its Cairns-Townsville-Rockhampton service, would take off on August 2.
“When we announced the Albury to Gold Coast service the bookings were off the charts,” Mr Bredereck said. “Our Wagga to Brisbane service has become one of our best routes, so we see (the new service) as another way people can connect with work and family.”
Wagga, Rockhampton and Townsville all have a significant military presence and Mr Bredereck expected it would help support the service.
“Airfares will be much the same as Brisbane and flight times are similar too... about 80 minutes to the Gold Coast,” Mr Bredereck said.
The new service will initially fly both ways on Wednesday, from the Gold Coast to Wagga on Firday and back the other way on Saturday morning.
