WAGGA’s first full-time District Court judge, Gordon Lerve, has been promoted in the Royal Australian Air Force Specialist Reserve to the rank of Air Commodore.

Judge Lerve will now serve as one of three Deputy Judge Advocates General, along with representatives of the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Navy.
He has been a member of the RAAF Specialist Reserve for more than 25 years.
Judge Lerve will begin sitting as full-time District Court judge in Wagga on July 24.
He is moving from Dubbo, having been been appointed a judge in May, 2012.
Before then he was a magistrate for six years, presiding over courts in rural and regional areas, including Albury between 2008 and 2012 and Moree.
Born at Urana and raised at Cootamundra, Judge Lerve’s legal experience also includes working as a barrister for four years, senior legal officer at the National Crime Authority for a year and a Crown Prosecutor for 15 years, appearing in hundreds of criminal trials.
