The 38-year-old mother of four has moved one step closer to fulfilling her dying wish due to the “humbling generosity” of locals.
Ms Phillips, who is suffering aggressive stage four breast cancer, wants to take her kids on a holiday before her illness worsens.
An influx of residents have donated to the fundraising raffle, with several reaching out to The Daily Advertiser to offer further support.
Donovan Carter was touched by Ms Phillips story and offered to donate as much cash as he possibly could to help make her dream a reality.
“No family should have to endure that kind of heartbreak,” he said.
“As humans, we should feel compelled to help one another and this family clearly needs a bit of support.
“I will offer to help them as much as I possibly can.”
Six weeks ago, Ms Phillips received the heart wrenching news that her cancer was incurable.
She can only receive a reduced dose of chemotherapy due to fluid collecting in her liver.
Bobby Gando has also offered his condolences to the family and a Kenwood Kitchen Chef valued at $900.
“It’s the least I can to do help them out,” he said.
“It’s brand new and I’ve just had it sitting here so why not use it for good.”
Ms Phillip’s sister, Monique Burkinshaw, has taken leave from work to support Michaela and her children in palliative care.
“We are aiming to raise money for Michaela and her children to take a holiday together if possible, or if Michaela is too unwell to travel, any money raised will go towards supporting her children,” her sister said.
“(She) is an amazing mother to her children, and even while dealing with incredible pain and stress over the past couple of months, her children and their future have always been her primary concern.
