A MAN accused of setting fire to a teenager at Lockhart is to stand trial after waiving his right to a committal hearing in the Local Court.

Brody Mulqueeney took the option when his case was mentioned in Wagga Local Court last Wednesday.
Mulqueeney is charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
It is alleged the 20-year-old threw a flammable liquid over a 14-year-old boy in the back yard of a Lockhart home and then set him alight.
The incident is alleged to have happened on August 28 last year.
The boy was flown to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for treatment and detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad began investigating.
Mulqueeney was arrested on October 1 and has been in custody ever since.
A date for Mulqueeney’s trial is yet to be fixed.
