According to Essential Energy’s website, 1287 of the city’s northern central customers lost power around 7.15pm.

The outage appears to be isolated to the north side of the lagoon, with residents and businesses within the boundary of Johnson Street, Narrung streets McKinnon and Sturt streets.

It estimates power will be back on by 8.24pm, with some customers back in the light at 8pm.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the outage.
