A long off-season is almost over for players, officials and supporters with the competition set to begin on Saturday.
While Group Nine, Southern Inland, Football Wagga and Farrer League competitions all got underway before Easter, Riverina League clubs have been forced to cool their heels.
This year’s competition is highly-anticipated and the premiership race is considered wide open given the departures from Wagga Tigers’ premiership team.
New Turvey Park captain-coach Mitch Sykes said round one cannot come soon enough.
“It has been a long pre-season this year, everyone else is into round two or three so we’re looking forward to round one,” Sykes said.
The Bulldogs will be one of the first to start their season when they host Narrandera at Maher Oval on Saturday.
