A Wagga man has been charged after he allegedly brandished a meat cleaver while dining at McDonald’s.

Police were called to the Fox Street fast-food outlet about 8.30pm to discover a 37-year-old man armed with a cleaver, frightening nearby diners and staff.
Detectives questioned the man before they determined he had no reasonable excuse for carrying the large knife.
He was arrested and subsequently charged for possessing a knife in a public place.
The 37-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear at Wagga Local Court in May.
