As the swimming events reach the pointy end, with representative carnivals, schools across the region are getting into the swing of athletics season.
Red Hill Primary held its athletics carnival at Jubilee Park on Thursday.
It was another day to remember for Nyekiah Charles who became a dual senior girls champion this year – backing up her swimming carnival crown with a track and field victory.
As well as the serious side of things, there was plenty of fun, particularly for the kindergarten students who enjoyed a bean bag race.
Teacher Donna Post said the school couldn’t have been happier with the day.
“The students excelled in performance and displayed excellent sportsmanship by encouraging others,” Post said.
“It was great to have infants involved in the carnival and so many parents there to support the carnival.”
