In the bareback, all three entrants clocked a time, and Hall came third.
He was disappointed with his performance.
“I was hoping to do better, I don’t know what I did wrong, it was just a lack of preparation,” he said.
“The field’s getting stronger. There are young fellas coming through with a lot of talent.”
Hayden Tyrrell from Boorowa, who won the bull ride at Wagga, and came second to Hall in the bareback, claimed the highest-paying cheque in the bareback at Narrandera.
At last count, Hall led the national standings by just under $5000.
He has until September to build his on his lead.
Local cowboys will head to Victoria for three rodeos in a row; Kyabram on March 10, Merrijig on March 11 and Chiltern on March 12.
“It will be good to get on a good horse, and a couple of practice horses before then,” Hall said.
Hall will use the Sale rodeo on Saturday to prepare for the big weekend.
“You just have to keep going, do at least one a weekend, it’s all you can do,” he said.
“The more you do, the better you get.”
