The youngest child of legendary musician Cyril Jones, Annette Jones has entertained thousands during her musical career, but it was a simple tune for her mother in a nursing home that opened the door to her most rewarding gig.
For the past 20 years, Ms Jones has played for nursing home residents, bring a smile with every old standard.
“I’ve played in bands, jazz festivals and church fetes but playing for people at homes has been most rewarding,” she said. “If my music brings back happy memories then I’m happy.”
Her dedication to music and happiness saw Ms Jones receive a Rotary Club Award for Community Service last weekend, a lovely swansong for a lifetime of entertaining.
