Leeton District Hospital management is looking for residents to be part of the conversation and acting manager Jenny Tyrrell said an updated version of the proposed model was currently being circulated for final consultation and a governance steering committee would oversee the implementation of the model of care by mid-2017.
“We are seeking two local ‘consumers’ who would like to contribute through the new model’s governance steering committee or working group,” she said.
Residents can also request to view the final draft model, which shows how midwives will take on a bigger role at the hospital, but it will still seek an obstetrician to ensure women can have their babies at their facility.
Provide feedback to Ms Tyrrell at Jenny.Tyrrell@health.nsw.gov.au or phone 0459 814 041 by January 30.
