“He’s very critical of the current NRL regime, and the way the bureaucratic nature of it has gone into a beast,” Thunder’s Mike Eden said.
Affectionately known as “Gus”, Gould is one of the game’s most influential figures with his commentating and administrative career following his playing and coaching stints.
The Penrith Panthers’ head of football will be joined by ex-Queensland forward and broadcaster Darryl Brohman.
“Josh Cale (former Thunder coach) tells me that Darryl was emcee at a Bulldogs’ grand final function he went to a few years ago, and he’s the funniest person he’s ever heard,” Eden said.
“Darryl can be very serious too, and he’s doing a lot of good work helping those with depression.”
The sportsman’s lunch will be held at Albury’s Commercial Club on Friday, February 17, from noon.
The contacts are Debbie Mosbey on 0432 071 668, Eden at Eden Lawyers or Cale at Albury’s Astor Hotel.
