Kurrajong Early Intervention Service manager Susan Macgillycuddy has been appointed president of ECIA NSW/ACT, an advocacy group that lobbies governments and promotes awareness of developmental delay and disability.
“Early childhood is the foundation of all learning and development, what we learn in those first five years absolutely shapes our potential and who we become,” Mrs Macgillycuddy said.
“My passion is to make a difference for families and their children and this gives me more opportunities to promote their needs and inclusion in the community.”
As president, Mrs Macgillycuddy will give governments and organisations firsthand knowledge from her team about issues facing real families in Wagga.
ECIA also works to improve professional development among those working in the industry as the NDIS roll-out approaches.
