The Collingullie student is putting others first this festive season by raising money to fund an English teacher in Cambodia for Lotus House.
“She saw an ad on television about children who were worse off than her and decided it wasn’t fair,” Beatrice’s grandmother, Margaret Whalan, said.
Beatrice has been baking and selling cakes and collecting donations and currently has more than $200.
She is holding a garage sale at Mrs Whalan’s house at 166 Forsyth Street this Saturday to raise more.
“We are very proud of her for thinking of other children,” Mrs Whalan said.
The garage sale is on December 3 from 9am to midday.
