Angland qualified for bareback and saddle bronc Australian Professional Rodeo Association finals, and was set to compete against Australia’s top 15 in Warwick on October 27.
Three months since tearing his PCL, ACL and fracturing his tibia, he’s still in recovery mode.
“I can’t compete, my knee’s still sore,” he said.
“Later on over Christmas, I’ll see how it’s feeling, but there’s no rush, I’ll wait till I’m feeling 100 per cent.”
Angland has found the silver lining.
He has been able to spend time with his young family after the arrival of his first child.
“It’s been great,” he said.
“Now I have the little one, we’ve able to spend heaps of time together.
“It’s great to slow down, there’s a lot more to life than rodeos.”
Angland and the family have just packed-up to start a new chapter at a cattle station in far north QLD.
