Organisers on Thursday made the heart-wrenching decision to scrap The Rock Show, which was set down for October 15.
Serious flooding in and around the showgrounds gave them little option but to cancel the 70th annual show.
Tumut’s Lanterns on the Lagoon and Sculptures in the Park festival, set down for the weekend, has also been cancelled due to safety concerns.
Fears of widespread flooding at the festival venue, Rotary Pioneer Park, forced the hand of organisers.
Co-organiser Christine Webb described the decision as “devastating” but said safety was paramount.
The Markets by the Lake in Wagga has also been cancelled for this Saturday due to flooding.
The NSW Clay Target Association’s state titles will not go ahead.
