Lotto mania is expected to sweep Wagga as punters tune in for tonight's massive $50 million Oz Lotto draw.
Kooringal Newsagency manager Geoff Seymour said he expected hundreds of people through the shop today, securing their chance of becoming an overnight multi-millionaire.
"$50 million is the benchmark when non-regular players decide to start getting involved," Mr Seymour said.
"I think it's the kind of money that would allow the winner to have it all - mansion, boats, holidays, retirement and for that reason it captures the public's imagination."
Mr Seymour said while selling the winning division-one ticket was as much a game of chance as winning it, a regular syndicate secured a win of $2.5 million from his shop around five years ago.
Tonight is one of the handful of times the Oz Lotto draw has jackpotted to $50 million, with the current record being a $90 million jackpot draw on June 30, 2009.
Sturt Mall Newsagency manager Neville Harvey said he expected to sell more than 500 entries today.
"Between $50 and $90 million is astronomical amounts of money," he said.
"People think they would never see that amount of money in their lives."
NSW Lotteries spokeswoman Elissa Lewis said about one million tickets would be purchased for tonight's draw.
