Her youngest son, Hugh, has a severe congenital heart disease and the family have become advocates for the Heart Centre for Children.
Family and friends participated in a head shave earlier in the year and they have raised almost $29,000 for life-saving equipment that is not government funded.
The family makes regular visits to Westmead Children’s Hospital and Mrs Culley was flawed when she realised Heart Centre for Children assist to pay for the machines.
“It did blow me away,” Mrs Culley said.
“It’s essential equipment, it keeps someone alive.”
Local advocates are hosting a sophisticated pink and red themed ball in September with champagne, canapes, a light meal, live entertainment.
The ball is themed red for blood and pink because it was the miraculous colour Hugh’s lips turned after his surgery in February.
