The game may have shaped as a mismatch on ladder positions but Young pushed the Wolves to the limit.
Tolland led 2-0 at half-time and it was only courtesy of three late goals that saw the scoreline blow out.
Tolland coach Dave Antill gave credit to Young.
“It was closer than the score indicated,” Antill said.
The win pushes Tolland into top spot on the Pascoe Cup ladder after four rounds.
Meantime, Henwood Park enjoyed a 15-0 thrashing of Northern Riverina Nomads at Rawlings Park.
It was the Hawks’ second win of the year.
