Harry Edmonds, proudly Wagga born-and-bred, was shipped off to Korea to fight for his life and country at the ripe age of 18.
He treats Anzac Day as an occasion for personal reflection – a chance to dedicate his thoughts to the fun and times he spent with his fallen comrades.
“At the dawn service we pay our respects and honour all the poor boys who didn’t come home,” he said. “After that, the day is about reminiscing the funnier and more unusual memories, even if they were limited, that we had.”
Mr Edmonds is a recipient of an American Presidential Citation medal.
