Maybe that would give us a different outlook.
"The past should be the past and stay there. It destroys the future. Live life for what tomorrow has to offer, not what happened yesterday.”

Farce for the future
ADRIAN Piccoli seems to think that if councils get bigger and amalgamated, they will be super councils.
How ridiculous and how come?
I know of big councils who are not financial stable and have big, big problems.
I know of smaller councils who have proven themselves sustainable, financially sound and "fit for the future".
Why has the government disregarded their achievements and allowed them to continue with their successful work?
And by the way, who is going to pay all the redundancies the government is going to create and, maybe, Centrelink payments there-after?
Will it come from the bribery payments that the government promises to pay councils for their amalgamations?
How far into the future does the government plan?
Perhaps only to the next election, and councils are left to flounder and drown in the governments stuff-ups.

Don’t rewrite history
ANDREW Butts of Wagga in his recent letter to the editor questioned as to where Mark O'Brien's letter (DA, World history revised) got his misleading information from.
Andrew - it is possible, if not probable, that Mark may have viewed the DVDs Nazi and the Nazi Collaborations.
They cover as to how individuals from all walks of life turned against their nations and race to fight alongside the Nazis during World War II. Thus the multiracial army.
Many did it for financial gain, others for the promise of elevated status.
The story of Hitler and Nazi Germany is among the most compelling yet abhorrent in the entire course of history.
Since the end of World War II, countless books and films have covered the topic, ensuring the atrocities that marked the period are never forgotten. As for the holocaust, to say it didn't happen suggests foolhardiness on behalf of those who deny it.
However, this is not altogether surprising as we have out there those who deny anything that suggests something extraordinary - they cannot fully comprehend because it is too complex for them to grasp.
This is evident with biblical history and Christianity as we watch those hell bent on trying to disprove that such ever existed.

Spreading the word
A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl in a passenger jet says to the man next to her:
“Mister, do you brush your teeth?”
“Yes.”
“That’s good, because people who brush their teeth keep their teeth.”
After a few seconds, she asked: “Mister, do you smoke?”
“No.”
“That’s good, because people who don’t smoke are healthier.”
After a few seconds, she asked: “Mister, do you love Jesus?”
“Yes.”
“That’s good because people that love Jesus go to heaven.”
Anyone who knows and loves Jesus can be an evangelist, even a 9-year-old with Down Syndrome.
