Christmas was looking bleak for Natelie Tilden and her family a fortnight ago.
The presents had been stolen from under her tree and her car was stolen the next night.
But generous residents read Ms Tilden’s heartfelt story and have banded together to save her Christmas.
Ms Tilden works at a local disability service and her work mates gave her a $300 Visa gift card and replaced some of the stolen presents.
Residents donated from $100 to $200 of their own cash, which she saved to buy food for Christmas lunch.
“I started crying, I was so overwhelmed,” she said.
“I wouldn’t have had a Christmas if it wasn’t for everyone.
“It makes me feel like there’s 99 per cent good people in Wagga and one per cent that don’t deserve to be here.”
