St Therese Primary School principal Christine Calabria earlier this week announced the school of 13 students would close at the end of next year. It prompted backlash from parents, who said the future of the school should not have been decided by the Diocese of Wagga.
CSO director Alan Bowyer said families had worked hard to attract students, but the Catholic community had “exercised their choice” not to use St Therese.
Bishop Hanna acknowledged the closure of the school would be a distressing time for many.
